While, at first glance, these paintings indicate a new direction, they really represent a parallel path. First, I am not abandoning my traditional subject matter since these things are close to my heart. Second, much of representational art is based on abstract patterns of color and light, making the desire to investigate these elements a natural transition and an approach I will continue to pursue simultaneously.
